My first real sojourn, of which I’m (reasonably) satisfied, into the concept of marrying the ocean and the earth, the land and the waves, the energy of the sea and the energy of the forest, through my paintings. I have been a little bit rattled, to be honest, over the past few months, feeling that I may never realize this idea. The tree blending into the wave with it’s roots mingling with the jellyfish below the surface and the octopus winding it’s tentacles among the branches are my way of symbolizing the blurring of the lines between land and sea. The African Fish Eagle will always be a symbol of power and majesty. My next painting will be featuring the moon, a tree and a humpback whale.
